Board Service
Dr. Hotinski was first elected to the Board in 2015. She has served as the chair of the Public Information Committee, Education Committee, and Finance Committees and was elected Vice-President in 2020. She has served as a member of the Legislative Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee on Elementary Enrollment, as well as serving as Board Liaison to the District’s Strategic Planning Committee and FLITE.
Professional Background
Dr. Hotinski is the project manager for two multi-million dollar ocean research projects at Princeton University, GO-BGC and SOCCOM. Prior to her work on these projects, she was an information officer and science communications consultant for a university-industry partnership at Princeton focused on reducing carbon emissions. Roberta also has worked as a science writer for U.S. News & World Report and was a policy fellow at the National Science Foundation after finishing post-graduate work in paleoclimate modeling.
Roberta earned a B.S. in Environmental Geology and B.A. in German from Southern Methodist University in 1993. She earned her Ph.D. in Geosciences from Penn State University in 2000. A twenty year resident of Berwyn, Roberta lives with her husband and their two sons who attend Conestoga High School.
